Soooooooo…. if you recall in one of my last posts I mentioned I was opening a cafe…….
Well, kind of. We did a café party and invited friends over.
Here is a snip of the final baked goods menu-
In addition, I made brown butter chocolate chip cookies.
What did I learn -
Maybe make croissants as a stand alone haha.
Spread the bagels when proofing them. They ended up sticking together, and so separating them affected the appearance.
Putting them on separate parchment paper squares will probably help. I saw this in Claire Saffitz’s video.
Butter burns very quickly, so it is better not to multitask.
Putting in the work while kneading does make a difference. I got a workout haha, and it helped the dough.
Here is the result. I made the baked goods ( except the pain au chocolat pictured) and jam in this photo. The pain au chocolat was from TJ’s. I did make croissants but they are not pictured. I will do another post on croissants :).
Happy Baking!
Your table spread looks so good!
Do the bagels spread a lot as you proof them? Or how did they end up sticking together? Wondering if I can just leave extra space so I don't have to use extra parchment paper.
